The Ad Hoc’er Profile
Ad Hoc is looking for Guardians who are:
- 21 years or older
- Without children
- Without pets
- Able to pass a clean credit check
- Have regular income or proof of financial stability
- Flexible, responsible and community-oriented
Guardianship is not a tenancy, you will occupy the property under a monthly rolling License Agreement. Either you or Ad Hoc can give 28 days’ notice to end the agreement.
How to Become a Guardian
Step 1 – Check the fit
Before signing up, take a moment to see if guardianship suits your lifestyle. We’re looking for responsible, flexible individuals who are ready to live in unique spaces with a 28-day notice period.
Step 2 – Pre-register online
Think it sounds like a good fit? Great! Fill out the short pre-registration form below. We’ll then send you a link to complete your full registration.
Step 3 – Introduction
Once your form is reviewed, we’ll give you a quick call. We’ll explain how guardianship works, learn more about what you’re looking for, and walk you through what to expect.
Step 4 – Join the list
Once you’ve completed your registration, you’ll be added to our waiting list. How soon you’re matched depends on your flexibility and the availability of spaces.
Step 5 – Get matched
When a suitable property becomes available, we’ll invite you to view it. If it feels like the right fit, we’ll place the property on hold while we carry out a credit check. A small holding fee, equal to one week of the licence fee, is required at this stage. This fee takes the space off the market and will be deducted from your deposit once confirmed.
Step 6 – Staying with Ad Hoc
Once we know you and you’ve been a reliable guardian, we do our best to support you. If the property you’re in is reclaimed, we’ll aim to place you elsewhere. While we can’t guarantee a new spot, we always prioritise guardians who have shown to be reliable.
